When Dreams Come True!

“The speed with which any dream may be realized is always a function of how small the miracles have to be in order not to freak out the dreamer.” ~ Mike Dooley

Work & Fun

Yesterday I was watching Ellen DeGenerous Show and one of the guests on the show was Tom ford. He is one of the most successful fashion designers and also the director of the movie A Single Man.

What he said about his work is what I believe to be true also.

He said that when people ask him that what he does for fun, he says that he works. His work is also fun for him.

This is one the key ingredients in the lives of all the people who are living their dream. They truly enjoy what we call "work". We all can do that but we are conditioned to believe that we can't and it is our beliefs that are reflected in our reality. Most of us believe that work is something that we do to acquire money and fun is something that we do on the side to relax ourselves. While this may work for some people but their lives will be mediocre at the most. But people who are truly living an abundant life are really passionate about what they do for a living and money follows which is always the case provided that you believe that you will always be supported when you follow your joy.

Be who you are!

You cannot live your dream unless you are true to yourself. Look at the lives of all the people who did just that and made it really big like Oprah Winfrey, Elton John, Ellen DeGeneres, Richard Bach, Eckhart Tolle , Lady Gaga and many others. What do they have in common? They are being who they are, they didn't try to fit in with the herd.

For instance look at the life of Oprah Winfrey, she lives with her long term partner without entering the institution of marriage. She doesn't want children though she considers the girls in her forty million dollar boarding school (called Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa), her daughters.

Her lifestyle may not be "normal" for many people but it is normal for her. She is being herself and not pretending to be what is perceived as normal. I am not saying that her lifestyle choices are right or wrong but her choices represents who she is and what is right for her. You can only pretend for so long, being someone other then yourself only hinders your happiness and well being. As someone said you can either have a goal of your own or be a part of someone else's goal.

Now lets look at her career, she doesn't dance, sing or act but her career in showbiz is nothing short of a phenomenon. What is her job? She talks to people, that is what she loves doing the most and she made a career out of it and what a career it is! (she has branched out her career in many different directions depending on what she finds interesting). So she has both the key ingredients of success that is following her passion and being true to herself.

Many people who choose to go their own way do face some difficulties in the beginning but they care more about their own feelings then opinions of other people. And the thing is when you start to walk down the path of your heart after the initial step that is the most difficult one to take it gets easier and easier and continues to be so.

You are not doing that to offend people, you respect everyone's beliefs, you are just peacefully living the life that you prefer. If someone gets offended in the process that is their business. You are not responsible for anyone's happiness. But the thing is when you take responsibility of your own joy you attract people to your life who like you for who you are instead of trying to make do, what makes them happy.

Also you will notice some people around you who before didn't seem to accept your individuality now beginning to respect you for following your dream. Maybe before they were acting negative because you were getting your feelings hurt if they didn't accept you as you are. When you stop caring about their opinion in other words when you stop resisting, they stop persisting.

My Experience

I have just started to live the way I want to. Before I was mostly doing the things I was suppose to, now I do the things I want to, the things I am excited about no matter how insignificant they may seem. Because I know that it is the excitement in the little things that connects me to the bigger things that I want to do.

During the day I consciously follow my joy for example if I want to have breakfast while watching a movie then I do it like today I watched The Chronicles of Narnia while I was having my morning tea. For me abundance is the ability to do what I want to do, when I want to do it. It is not difficult like I thought it would be especially with a five year old :) in fact I am enjoying parenting even more then I ever did before. Things are working out, all I have to do is to keep out of the way by not trying to control anything but just enjoy the ride.

And if for some reason I can't do a certain thing I don't get disappointed because I know that whatever is happening in the moment is making me more aware of who I am. I believe that everything has a positive effect for me. If I don't like something I become more conscıous of what I do like. It is the contrast that helps me grow.

I like feeling good not because I want to keep my thoughts positive so that I can attract or manifest what I want but because I enjoy feeling good. I choose to be in this state. I feel like my life has changed so much but to another person it may look exactly the same. The thing that lets me know that there is a difference is that I am different, I feel different and my reactions are different.

Also there are physical manifestations and I have noticed that when I stop caring about whether a certain thing manifests or not, that is when it does manifests. So reality changes after you don't care that it does. You believe in yourself not because you will get something out of it but because that's who you are.

Criticism

Before it really mattered to me how others perceive me. I tried to live what they define as a successful life. I used to become terribly defensive if I was criticized. Now I live in a way that makes me happy and that I define as successful. It is so much more fun this way! I am what I am and I don't measure myself from the usual standards of perfection. I am unique and perfect in my own way just as you are. When you are true to yourself you are perfect.

As for the criticism it doesn't bother me anymore in fact it shows me how I feel about myself. Because I know that if I am annoyed by this, it means that I am second guessing myself and am agreeing with the other person but if it doesn't effect me then it shows that I am aligned with my higher self. And since I stopped caring about what anyone else think about me I have stopped attracting situations where I am judged in a negative way.

Criticism is not about another person who wants you to be different then you are being but it is about you not being in harmony with your own self and you are using that person as an excuse to feel bad. That person who is criticizing you reflects a doubtful side of yourself. And when that doubtful side is healed you stop encountering such people. You don't attract something you are not a vibration of.

Dreams

My dream is to live in happiness, to be abundant and to share my experience & joy with others. I live it as much as I can with the resources I have. I take action in the direction I want to go and I get more of what I enjoy.

Sometimes I am asked that why I have put donation boxes on my blog since law of attraction can get me all that I want. I believe that abundance can come through many different channels and the donation box is one of them. There are many symbols of abundance, money being one of them. I never limit the ways through which abundance can reach me. I don't insist that I get it one way or another and then it reaches me through the path that is best for me.

All of us have one purpose in life and that is to be our selves. The things we do, our careers and life styles are just ways that we choose to express who we are. So as you evolve so will your dream or dreams. What you find interesting today, you may not tomorrow.

Don't be afraid of change. Pay attention to your heart and learn to talk to it. I got the idea to do that from The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.

It doesn't matter whether your dream is big or small the important thing is that it is something you want to do and not something you are suppose to do. It makes your heart sing!

Be yourself, follow your heart and nothing is impossible!
