Individuality and Intuition
This article discusses how you can discover your individuality and how your intuition can guide you through life.
When you look at the successful people of today though they seem ordinary but you notice that there is something about them. That something is their “individuality”. It is wrong to say that some people are born with it and some are not. We are all unique in our own way but only some of us allow our uniqueness to express itself. Most of us choose the easy way out, to be one of the sheep in a herd and prefer to follow others and be directed. I am not saying that you should assume a leadership role and start to direct others. According to Judy Garland, “always be a first rate version of yourself, instead of a second rate version of somebody else”.
I am not talking about external power. What I am referring to here is internal power which is a power to guide your self with the help of your intuition.
If you want success then you have to realize that you are an individual. Individual means something you cannot divide, it is something real and it cannot be affected or hurt by outside forces. That is exactly who you are or rather your real self is. As I have mentioned in my other articles you have a higher self, the “I am” part of you and then you have your personality that is your outer appearance. As Gary Zukav who is a best-selling author puts it “only personality can feel anger, fear, vengeance, sorrow, shame, indifference, frustration, cynicism and loneliness. Only the personality can judge, manipulate or exploit; only personality can pursue external power. Personality can also be loving, compassionate and wise in its relation with others. But love, compassion and wisdom do not come from personality; they are expressions of the soul. Your soul is that part of you that is immortal”.
Your personality tries to pull you back but your higher self wants to advance you towards strength and internal power. The more you get closer to your real self, stronger your personality becomes. Individuality is a characteristic of your higher nature. When you realize the presence of “I am” within you, you will feel a sense of power unknown to you before.
Though you should respect the values and traditions of the society you live in but never let the spark of individuality within you fade away. It is a real thing. Each of us has it in us. We can bring it into activity by realizing and believing in its presence. Once you discover your individuality you will feel that you are not alone. That feeling can be termed as intuition.
Intuition is when you have a sudden hunch about something, whether it is good or not good for you or you just know how to solve a problem about which you have no previous experience or knowledge. I remember when I was doing my masters, in one of the exams there was a question I wasn’t prepared for. It was an open book exam however the book had more the five hundred pages and we had limited time. At that time I didn’t knew what it was but something guided me to go to the right chapter even the particular paragraphs I needed to read. Of course now I know it was my intuition.
Some people though they believe in intuition they don’t think that it could be counted upon. They think it comes and goes as it pleases. However you can train your self to use your intuition and make it your best friend to help you in time of need.
This is how you do it. First and foremost you must have faith in your higher self. You must realize that your higher nature in turn is connected to the Divine Intelligence or God. Secondly you must engage in emotional cleansing at all times. It is important that you clear your self of all negative thoughts and feelings. This way you become lighter and the quality of your frequency lowers it self so the guidance you receive is clear when it enters your system. Just as you dispose off your bodily waste you should also dispose of your emotional waste every day. Never go to bed angry or depressed. Keep your mind uncluttered and filled with positive energy. Thirdly you should also engage in a cleansing nutritional programme to get rid of the physical toxins in your body. This sometime can also interfere with your intuition. Lastly you must respect the guidance that you receive. You should be willing to hear what your intuition wants to tell you. Some times people do not wish to hear what could be heard so easily so they pretend that they didn’t hear anything.
When you have a problem seek guidance with absolute faith and you will receive it. Answer will come in the form of a sudden feeling about how you could solve this problem or the problem will go away altogether and your way will be made clear for you. Don’t ever loose hope or despair, look within yourself and you will find an infinite store house of inner strength.
Intuition also helps creativity. It tells you which book to buy for your project or why a certain painting should be done only in black and white. We cannot hear these suggestions with mortal ear but they could be heard through silence. In this way we receive our noblest and grandest thoughts.
Study yourself carefully to acquire self knowledge. Make your strong points stronger and also strengthen your weak points. When you are thinking and living right it results in happiness. So the power lies in you to make yourself happy. You have not claimed your birth right if you are not happy. You should
consciously
learn to concentrate on becoming in harmony with your higher self, and when you do that you will have more happiness then you can ever imagine. In your life it is up to you to be happy every step of the way or miserable; it all depends upon how we hear those silent whisperings that come to us from the unknown.
Remember whatever your problems are you are never alone. You have the loving assistance of your true self. Always have trust and faith in the universe. Believe that there is a reason for all that is happening and that reason in its heart is always good and compassionate.
