Natural cure for Insomnia
Whether you suffer from insomnia or you have trouble sleeping occasionally, this is the information you need. If you follow the suggestions in this article you will be able to sleep easily. Also when you wake up you will feel fresh and full of vitality. Nature intended that you should sleep and give your mind and body a rest. You don’t need artificial measures like sleeping pills or drugs to fall asleep. It will come to you naturally if you let it.
First of all never drink tea or coffee right before you sleep, have a glass of warm milk instead. Don’t go to bed immediately after dinner. There should be a two hours gap between your last meal of the day and your bed time.
We breathe more deeply and rhythmically while asleep so it is essential that the room should have enough fresh air. It is not healthy to sleep in stagnant air. Ventilate your bedroom thoroughly. Your bedroom should be your sanctuary. It should be uncluttered and painted in cool colors like light green, white or light blue. You can choose any colors that you find relaxing. Comfortable bed and right kind of pillows are also important for a good night’s sleep.
You must have a right mental attitude when you are about to sleep. You should be relaxed and at peace with yourself. Never go to bed depressed, discouraged or angry. Don’t think about your problems and maintain a positive state of mind. Practice the exercise of gratitude before you sleep and give thanks for all the blessings in your life. There is one affirmation I find very effective as illustrated by William Walker Atkinson, just before going to bed and when you wake up the next day: say it to your self, “Every cell in my body thrills with life; every part of my body is strong and healthy”. Go to sleep with confident faith that your strength is to be renewed and you will awake full of vitality and health. Put purpose in to your sleep.
PRACTICAL EXERCISES TO INDUCE SLEEP
• The first exercise is called “Water Method”; it is a simple way to induce sleep. Put a glass of clear water on your bed side table and look at it. Think how calm it is. Then think of yourself as getting as calm as the water. In a couple of minutes you will feel that your nerves are relaxing. Then you will be able to sleep.
• Picture yourself becoming drowsy to induce sleep. When I had trouble sleeping during my student years I used to think about the most boring lecture of the day to fall asleep. It did help me sleep within minutes. You can also read a book that is really boring or think about something uninteresting.
• Think of yourself as some inanimate object, like a hollow log in the depths of a cool quite forest.
I find these exercises really effective to quite the nerves and thus help in preventing insomnia. Practice these exercises regularly and you will sleep. Don’t think about Insomnia or be afraid that you won’t be able to sleep. Breathe, and feel perfectly confident that you will sleep in due time and you will.
