The first day of the New Year is an important one for me. It is how I spent it that sets the tone for the rest of the year. It may sound silly to some but for me it has been like that for a while. So on this day I keep myself conscious of my thoughts and feelings. I completely let go of any resistance that I might have. I just go with the flow eat, dance and be merry :)
Meditation is a good way to relax your mind and body but if meditation isn't your thing then you can do what you find relaxing and enjoyable. Eat food that you find fun, go out if you feel like it or spend a peaceful day at home. It doesn't really matter what you do as long as you enjoy it.
One suggestion that I can give you, that can raise your vibration is to make a list of things that you appreciate in yourself and in your life. Not the things that you would like to have but what you already have at that moment. Because sometimes when you think about the things that you don't have you start to see what is lacking in your life and that lowers your vibration.
However if you do have goals that excite you and you feel happy thinking about them then you should definitely write them down. Thoughts of success and joy attract situations that vibrate at that higher frequency.
I am not much of a fan of New Year's resolutions because making them hasn't worked for me. If I want to do or not to do something I would start that at that very moment. For example if I want to loose weight I would start to eat healthy from that moment onwards, it would not be something that I would leave for say next day, next week or next month. I plan for the future if necessary but I don't set future goals any more. I have realized that I can only create in the present moment.
If you do have some major goal for this year then start to take baby steps towards it. Do what you can with what you have. Don't worry about what steps you take or whether they are big or small. Anything that can take you in the direction of what you want to accomplish no matter how insignificant it appear, is a good way to began the journey towards your chosen destination.
These suggestions are not only for the first day of the new year
but for every new day in your life.
