Purpose of Life

I believe that all of us have a purpose. There is a reason that we exist. Each of us has a different gift to offer to the world. All of us are special in our own way. Life is no accident we came in to being to fulfill our life’s purpose.

However before you even think about the true purpose of your life, you have much to accomplish. You have to evolve and advance. You have to open your mind to truth and wisdom.

First step in finding your purpose of life is to set a goal or aim which “you” would like to accomplish. It could be a financial goal, a spiritual ideal or any worldly thing depending on your situation and nature at the time being. Whatever it is you should steadily focus your thoughts upon that aim.

As James Ellen, a well respected British philosopher said, “To put away aimlessness and weakness, and to begin think with purpose, is to enter the ranks of those strong ones who only recognize failure as one of the pathways to attainment; who make all conditions serve them, and who think strongly, attempt fearlessly, and accomplish masterfully”.

Your goal should be legitimate and you should intend that “it is for the highest good of all”. When you put forward this intention with your goal the Universe advances you mentally, physically and spiritually before you achieve what you desire.

Making this intention is really important, because if you get what you want before you are ready for it, it might feed your problems instead of making your life better. For example let’s say you want to be financially abundant but you have negative thoughts of insecurity, fear and worry. If you accomplish your goal before getting rid of this negative mental attitude you will be actually worse off. You will continually live in fear of losing what you have. You will be suspicious of people and will thus distance yourself from others. And you might loose every thing you acquired because whatever you focus and give continuous attention to whether it is positive or negative, it manifests itself and becomes reality. This is the law of attraction .

Remember the purpose you have chosen could be the true reason for your existence OR it could be the way to it. You don’t know it yet. Don’t worry about it. For now you should make this purpose which you have chosen your supreme duty. You should devote yourself to it. Even if you fail a couple of times to accomplish it (which you will if you have any weakness or negativity to overcome); you will gain strength of character. This is the true indication of success. This is the basis, the starting point of a bright future. Once your conscience is purified against all that is negative, you will accomplish what you set out to do.

If your current circumstances are not desirable, if your line of work is not what you want, you can still achieve your aim through law of attraction. Do your best in your present situation or job or business. Opportunities will come to you to take you where you want to be. Focus on performing your tasks in an efficient and faultless way no matter how insignificant they appear to you. Even if you don’t see any way by which you can accomplish your aim don’t despair. Believe that your wish has already been granted and show gratitude. TRUST the Universe. Do all that you can do at your end, use all your worldly connections but be unattached to the outcome, believe that every thing will work out for the best and it will. Thoughts of doubt and fear can never accomplish anything, they only lead to failure.

Once you get to your destination and accomplish your goal, you are ready to proceed to the second step in determining your life’s true purpose. This is to decide whether your achievement is in fact the reason for your existence or not. You might ask, “What if it isn’t? What was the point then to go through all the trouble to reach a goal which could or couldn’t be what you were destined to do? I will tell you why. By achieving your goals you are sure of your abilities. You have learned to work with the laws of the Universe. You know and believe they work. You learned that you have the power to create your best life and not other people or situations. If somebody told you all this you might not believe it or be skeptical about it. You can only believe and learn something by doing it.

Remember you intended that your purpose is for the highest good of all. When you reach your goal not only did you achieve what you desire but you also evolved consciously and gained authentic power (refer to my articles on these topics). Authentic empowerment is necessary to accomplish your true purpose in life. Maybe the purpose that you chose and accomplished is what you were meant to do with your life. If not then you can use the success that you acquired as a platform to pursue your real purpose in life. You needed this achievement as a ladder to climb up the hierarchy of life.

How do you know if it’s your real purpose or not?

When you absolutely love what you do, when you are passionate and enthusiastic about your work, when what you do serves both yourself and others, when you don’t get bored, when you delight in your work, when you feel that your actions and activities are purposeful, when you feel that you are living up to your true potential, you are doing what you were meant to be doing.

Each one of us are destined to fulfill a different task and to contribute our special ness in specific ways. It may be the task of raising a family, helping humanity through medicine, communicating ideas through writing, spreading knowledge and wisdom by being a teacher and so on. When the deepest part of you becomes engaged in what you are doing that is your life’s purpose.

It does not matter if you are unsure of the real purpose of your life. When you live consciously it will come to you and all the pieces of puzzle will fall in to place. When you learn from your life experiences with wisdom and clarity instead of responding to them with fear and negativity you get closer to your true aim. All of your life experiences assist you in discovering it and prepare you to fulfill it.

A personality who is not empowered will not be able to identify its life purpose. It will feel a sense of emptiness. It will not be satisfied and happy with life no matter how much financial success it acquires. It will always have a feeling that something is missing from life. On the other hand an empowered personality finds its life true meaning and purpose. Such a personality has richness and quality to its life. It has a certain special ness and is admired and respected by fellow humans.

If you have reached the goals which you have set for yourself and still feel that your life is incomplete and there is something else that you need to do but you don’t know what it is, say to Universe or God whatever term you use, “show me the way” or “show me where I need to be”. Put forward this intention. Meditate on this thought, spend time with it. Put yourself and your life completely in the hands of the Universe. The final step in reaching for your life’s true purpose is releasing yourself to the omnipresent, to a higher form of wisdom.
