Raw Food Diet – Day 2

When I woke up this morning I wasn’t feeling hungry like I usually do. I did some stretching and meditated for 15 minutes. Five more minutes of breathing exercises in the fresh morning air and I was ready for breakfast.

Today's Diary

Breakfast 9:00 am

One apple, two bananas and four dates with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice courtesy of Ahmed (my husband).

Farmer’s Market 11:00 am

Today is a nice crisp day sun is shining and the weather is perfect for a trip to farmer’s market to buy some fruits, nuts and vegetables. Don’t have a list will go with the flow.

12:30 pm

Got a lot of stuff from the market including peanuts, cashews, walnuts, spinach, carrots, lettuce, strawberries, apples, pears, bananas, dry herbs, prunes, dates, oranges, pineapple, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions and honey. I have just one more day of this raw diet so I think it is enough. Now have to put it away and start to prepare lunch.

Lunch 1:00 pm

For lunch I enjoyed a delicious cucumber curry salad. It is very easy to prepare. It consisted of chopped red onions, spinach, cashews and cucumbers. For dressing I used olive oil, honey, curry powder and very little salt.

Snack 3:00 pm

Three ripe prunes

No withdrawal symptoms

I haven’t experienced any withdrawal symptoms like nausea or headaches. According to some these symptoms reflect that body is detoxifying. I don’t know why it hasn’t happen to me yet. However I am not too concerned about why I don’t feel bad.

4:00 pm

Instead of my usual aerobics session I decided to go for a walk as the weather was lovely. I took a forty five minute walk and had fresh apple juice in one of the cafes along the way.

7:00 pm – Dinner

I wasn’t very hungry so I had a banana, a pear and half a cup of peanuts which are an excellent source of protein.

9:00 pm – Snack

Some walnuts and a cup of lemon tea with honey.

I drank about 6 glasses of mineral water during the whole day.

10:00 pm

I am not feeling sleepy or tired. I have noticed that I need less sleep on this raw diet. Probably best to read for a while before turning in. Good night!
