Watch Your Thoughts
Majority of us spend a large portion of our time in thinking. We think about things that has happened or yet to happen. When we do that we forget what really matters that is the present, the moment we are in now. This is not some philosophical hocus pocus but if you want your life to be joyful then you do need to control your thoughts and not let them control you. Nothing is good enough to control you.
So what do you think about the most? You would not really remember. Most of our
thoughts
are compulsive, repetitive and unconscious. Just watch yourself think for a couple of minutes. Sometimes your mind can be the noisiest place you have ever been to. All this racket prevents the wisdom of the Originating Spirit, Universal Mind or God (all these different names indicate the same truth) from reaching you. That is why being in the present is so important. When you are absolutely alert you become aware of what the Universe is trying to tell you.
When you loose yourself in useless thinking you loose your connection to the divine love, power and wisdom, you close yourself to the unlimited possibilities available to you. Be in the moment, be in the now. Pay attention to what you are doing no matter how insignificant the task is. When you find your thoughts getting out of control, be aware of your breathing. Take deep breaths, this will help you to be present and at the receiving end of infinite good.
I have said a number of times that being in the present moment is the source of real happiness and peace. However at times it is extremely difficult to do so, especially if what you are doing is boring or tiring. If you can’t enjoy what you are doing then at least what you can do is accept the situation. Tell yourself that this is what you have to do now. Make peace with it. This way you will not release any negative vibrations on the contrary you will become a centre for distributing the light of consciousness. Not only you will attract to yourself all that is best for you but also you will make this world a better place by increasing the positive vibrations on this plane of existence.
If you hate to do something then it is better to not to do it at all. Thought is energy and a powerful one at that. Negative thoughts attract to you all sort of nasty experiences and also these negative vibrations affect the people around you. If you do something with hate in your heart no matter how good your intentions are, outcome will be unfavourable. If you absolutely have to do something and see no way around it then you don’t have to dance and sing while you do it. As I said before just be at peace while you do it. When you accept something for what it is, you become at one with it and it loses its antagonism. You soon find that the situation you thought you were trapped in leads the way to what you really desire. Mind you it doesn’t happen instantly but what does happen sometimes immediately is that you realize that you are a part of something bigger. You realize that you are not your thoughts but you are the intelligence behind your thoughts. You recognize your
higher self
and progress towards your true destiny, finding joy in each step that you take.
