The best way I know to loose weight & keep it off!
<This is me when my son was about a month old. It took some time for all this baby weight to come off.
To loose weight is quite a challenge for some of us. For me it is more about feeling healthy and fit. I let my clothes be the judge of it, if they fit me perfectly it means I am on track. I rarely weigh myself. The only time I do step on a weighing machine is when my jeans don’t fit and then I know that something is up.
I don't go on drastic diets nor do I deny myself treats that I love however I eat healthy as much as possible. For the past year or so I was a vegetarian but I don't like to give myself specific labels or limit myself to only certain kinds of food. Now I eat whatever I feel like eating.

As I said I don't label myself as a vegetarian anymore. Occassionally I would eat some chicken or fish, I don't prefer beef because I don't like the taste of it. For me it is not about food, yes food is an important part of the whole picture but it is not the whole picture.
I do enjoy good food, who doesn’t? But the question is what are you hungry for? Is it food or there is something else lacking in your life that you are trying to replace with food.
The best way I know to loose weight is not to try to loose weight instead I make time for myself to do the things that I enjoy. I read, I write, watch movies and for exercise I would do what I find fun, sometimes I go walking at other times I would just dance around to my favourite music.
Have you noticed that when you are excited or enthusiastic about something, when you are in love, when you are really happy with yourself you don’t feel hungry? And still you have a lot of energy. Why does it happen? It happens because the frequency of love, appreciation, gratitude and joy take you to a higher level of vibration. And you tap into the universal store house of energy; you receive energy directly from the source. That is the reason when we are particularly enthusiastic and passionate about a project or a person we don’t feel much hunger and yet feel energetic.
People tend to over eat and gain weight when they are stressed, angry, depressed, worried or bored. They try to suppress the negative emotions with food. They use food as sort of a tranquilizer that causes a temporary relief from whatever is bothering them but soon this feeling of relief is replaced by guilt or another negative emotion.
Our body has a natural self defense mechanism when it feels threatened or insecure it starts to store up fat as a protective shield. It is one of its basic survival instincts. So going on a diet when you feel vulnerable almost never works. Sometimes people actually gain weight while they are dieting most probably because their body is operating on a survival mode.
All this is well and good but then it seems like external circumstances determine whether you can or cannot loose weight. What if you don’t have an exciting project, what if you are not in love, what if life is not exciting, what if you don’t have anything to be enthusiastic about. Then say to yourself, “so what?”. Here is the secret, the most exciting thing that could ever happen to you is you.
You are the center of your universe. Everything around you reflects how you feel about yourself. Before you could achieve your ideal weight in this physical reality you have to align with the perfect being that you are on a higher spiritual level. When you stop being judgmental about yourself and start to love and appreciate yourself, you will see a change in your physical appearance as well as physical surroundings.
Don't resist anything because the more you resist something the more it will persist. The same goes for food. It is less about what you are eating and more about what you are feeling whilst you are eating it. Treat food as friend and not a foe. Enjoy whatever it is that you are eating and keep that good feeling going afterward as well. Never feel guilty about something that you had that you think you shouldn't have had.
I used to do that, I would eat a piece of cheese cake and thinking that I have already fallen off the wagon would then eat half of the cake. Now I know that every moment is brand new, it is now that really matters and not what happened before even if it was a minute ago. Never justify something that happened in the past by hanging on to it.
Don't forbid yourself from eating something. Saying that you will never have something will make it more attractive to you and the chances are that sooner or later you will give in to temptation and have more then you would have normally. It is much better to say that you will have the food that makes you feel good.
Always have your meals when you are in a good mood. It is not a good idea to eat when you are stressed, angry or feeling any negative emotion because then you are using food as a temporary escape rather then something that has a nutritional value for the physical body.
When you are feeling negative, instead of engaging in emotional eating just have a glass of water then sit quietly in a comfortable position and focus on your breathing. This is the simplest form of meditation. Take some time out, relax and let go.
If you want to feel good & have perfect health then every day you must set some time aside just for yourself, to do your own thing, anything that makes you happy. When you are well rested, relaxed and happy then you can take care of your family much better then when you are tired and stressed.
Now lets talk about exercise. So much has been said and done in this area, the information available is overwhelming. So how to choose the exercise that is best for you? Every person is different, what works for me might not work for you. This is what I do, since I get bored easily I choose to do something different every day. I have many exercise DVDs and I do whatever I feel like doing that day. Sometimes I don't feel like exercising at all in that case I would just take a walk. I never force myself to do something.
Nowadays I have a thing for bollywwod dancing, it is a lot of fun and doesn't seem like exercise. If you go on amazon.com you will find DVDs like The Bollywood Dance Workout with Hemalayaa, Bollyrobics Dance Workout [Blu-ray] and Honey Kalaria's Bollywood Workout. If you enjoy dancing then give it a try. I don't like going to gym, at home I can do the exercise that I like at my own pace and time.
Also during a workout drink lots of water. Water clears up your system and balances your energy. It doesn't matter how many cups of tea or other beverages you have consumed there is no substitue for a refreshing glass of clear water.
So in a nut shell the best way to loose weight is to love yourself unconditionally and accept yourself just the way you are. Make time for yourself and do the things that you love. Feel good to look good :)
