Work at home & share your passion by making a web site

May 2008

You can turn your hobby or passion into profession by building a useful web site and work at home. I will show you how to do it based on my personal experience.

Going to work should not be a burden or chore. You should be able to enjoy what you do. However, if you are stuck in a line of work that you don’t like, don’t quit yet. Do your best where you are and let the law of attraction take you where you want to be. In the mean time why don’t you work at home part time and start your own business? Share your hobby and passion with the world by building a website. Who knows may be you will enjoy it so much that you will decide to make it your full time job. Setting up a useful web site is not as difficult as you might think it is. It doesn’t matter if you are a computer expert or not or if you have ever build a web site before. When there is a will there is a way, in my case it was my will to do and SBI!

Since my baby was born I wanted to work at home. More importantly I wanted to do something I am passionate and enthusiastic about. I was also enrolled in a PhD programme in marketing at the time, however it wasn't what I really wanted to do. So I decided to take a break from my studies. How I discovered the Law of Attraction is another story. After a lot of reading and meditating I wanted to share the wisdom I gained with as many people as I can. So I decided that the best way to give out this knowledge is through my own website. I was really excited about it however I didn’t know how I will do it as I didn’t had prior knowledge about building websites.

I searched on internet for cheap website holding services and found many. Some of them were really cheap and some even free. I used one of these services, but didn’t had any traffic. This was not what I wanted. I wanted people to come to my website and take advantage of the information I provide for them. As I always say if you really want something and you have persistence then there is ALWAYS a way.

Soon enough I came across Site Build It! It wasn’t cheap but it wasn’t too expensive either. When I learned that they provide all the technical support including building free traffic. I knew instantly that it is exactly what I wanted. All I had to do was to provide content and they handled every thing else. If you ever decide to make a website and do it through this service, make sure to read their “ten day guide” better yet print it out, it is really important to do that. Once you register you will have instant access to this guide.

The next thing I want to talk about is the importance of your passion for the subject matter of your website. You should be really interested in the subject you are writing about. This will attract visitors. Every body has a hobby or a subject they really love to talk about. Be it collecting stamps, arranging flowers or juggling (jugglenow.com is quite a profitable SiteSell website). You can write about anything under the sun providing you love it and in some way it provides useful or entertaining information for others.

It is really important to do what you WANT and LOVE to do. It doesn’t matter whether it is blogging or something else or whether it is difficult or not. Don’t do something just because it is easy or because somebody else did it. It won’t work that way. The point is that ANYTHING is possible if you have a burning desire for it.

In this post I have discussed the websites which provide information only, but you can also build websites which sell hard goods or e-goods, websites based on commission and many more. Make your own research and decide which one is most suitable for you.

Follow your dream, never stop trying and face every challenge with courage and determination. Remember every problem has a solution. As William Walker Atkinson said in one of his books, “the bigger the person smaller is the problem and smaller the person, bigger is the problem”.

I Love SBI!
